G7 Foreign Ministers "Strongly Condemn North Korea's ICBM Launch"... Joint Statement with EU

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] The Group of Seven (G7) strongly condemned North Korea's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch and issued a joint statement with the European Union (EU).

According to foreign media on the 30th (local time), the G7 foreign ministers, in a joint statement with Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, expressed "serious concern over an unprecedented series of ballistic missile tests with increasingly diverse systems across all ranges."

Additionally, the G7 foreign ministers urged all United Nations member states to condemn North Korea's actions.

Earlier, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) put to a vote a US-led additional sanctions proposal against North Korea after it launched three missiles, including an ICBM, on the 25th of this month. However, the agenda was rejected as China and Russia, permanent members of the Security Council, exercised their veto rights.

Meanwhile, the G7, an economic and security consultation group of advanced countries, includes the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Canada, Germany, and Italy.
