[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Singer Lim Young-woong proved his popularity by ranking 2nd in the May star brand reputation.


On the 29th, the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute announced the results of big data analysis of star brand reputation for May 2022, with Lim Young-woong ranking 2nd. Son Heung-min took 1st place, and BTS ranked 3rd.


The Lim Young-woong brand recorded a participation index of 2,498,743, media index of 1,503,479, communication index of 2,094,768, and community index of 3,689,928, resulting in a brand reputation index of 9,786,918. This is a 15.13% increase compared to the star brand reputation index of 8,501,064 in April.


The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute measured 210,956,762 pieces of star brand big data from April 29, 2022, to May 29, 2022, analyzing consumer behavior to measure participation index, media index, communication index, and community index for star brands. Compared to 206,452,665 pieces of star brand big data in April, this represents a 2.18% increase.

The brand reputation index is a metric created through brand big data analysis, based on the insight that consumers' online habits greatly influence brand consumption. Star brand reputation analysis measures consumer relationships with star brands, positive and negative evaluations, media interest, and consumer attention and communication volume.


Star brand reputation analysis targets entertainers, singers, trot singers, drama actors, movie actors, boy groups, girl groups, and athletes, analyzing top-ranking brands in brand reputation through a big data reputation algorithm to analyze relationships with consumers. The detailed indicators of the star brand reputation index include a weighted recommendation index.


The top 30 star brand reputation rankings for May 2022 were analyzed as follows: Son Heung-min, Lim Young-woong, BTS, Psy, IU, BLACKPINK, Son Seok-gu, Lee Chan-won, Kang Daniel, Ryu Hyun-jin, Red Velvet, TWICE, Kim Jun-ho, Kim Hye-soo, NCT, Kim Jong-kook, (G)I-DLE, Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Byung-hun, Lee Jung-jae, SEVENTEEN, Taeyeon, Young Tak, Ma Dong-seok, BIGBANG, Girls' Generation, Song Ga-in, Son Ye-jin, and Lee Seung-gi.


Gu Chang-hwan, head of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, explained, “According to the big data analysis of star brand reputation in May 2022, the Lim Young-woong brand was maximizing consumer participation through music tracks, albums, and concerts based on a strong fandom.”
