[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 28th (local time) spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, demanding that they stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.


According to The Guardian and other sources, the Kremlin stated that during the 80-minute call with the two leaders, President Putin warned that Western countries' arms support to Ukraine is dangerous and "could further destabilize the situation."


The Kremlin also reported that President Putin expressed willingness to resume dialogue with Ukraine. According to the Kremlin, Putin told the two leaders, "We are paying close attention to the frozen negotiation situation due to Ukraine," and "Russia is willing to resume talks."


Additionally, the Kremlin said President Putin mentioned the global food crisis and criticized Western anti-Russian sanctions and misguided economic and financial policies.


President Macron and Chancellor Scholz immediately demanded a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian troops, the German government said.
