[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The ruling and opposition parties have tentatively agreed to hold a plenary session at 8 p.m. on the 28th to process the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's first supplementary budget (supplementary budget) bill.
Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, said in a press briefing after meeting with Park Byeong-seok, Speaker of the National Assembly, along with Park Hong-geun, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the afternoon of the 27th, "We decided not to hold a plenary session today because the Democratic Party did not agree."
Kwon said, "if circumstances are unfavorable, the possibility of holding a plenary session on Sunday cannot be ruled out."
Park Hong-geun, floor leader of the Democratic Party, said, "We plan to continue the process of narrowing differences related to the supplementary budget and gather opinions."
Earlier, the ruling and opposition parties held a luncheon meeting to agree on the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's first supplementary budget bill, followed by a three-party meeting between the floor leaders of both parties and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho to finalize the supplementary budget bill, but failed to reach an agreement.
