[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Dream Start, operated by Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, is implementing a glasses support program for about 50 children from vulnerable groups to improve eye health during their growth period.
According to the county on the 27th, the children's glasses support program is a project that supports the cost of purchasing glasses in connection with local optical shops to manage the eye health of children who miss the timing to wear glasses due to economic burdens or need correction due to vision deterioration.
Glasses can be purchased at contracted optical shops from next month until October.
Children who need glasses support can visit local partner optical shops with the coupon sent by mail from Dream Start and receive up to 50,000 KRW support for the purchase price of glasses.
A county official said, "Wearing glasses on time greatly helps protect students' vision and resolve learning disabilities," adding, "We will continue to provide customized programs linked with local resources so that children can grow up healthily."
Meanwhile, Hwasun-gun Dream Start provides integrated case management and 42 types of customized services including health and welfare for vulnerable children aged 0 to 12.
