[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Shindonga Construction, selected as the grand prize winner in the high-quality design category, has completely revamped its housing brand ‘Familie’ for the first time in 14 years this February and is working to strengthen its brand competitiveness.
The new brand slogan is ‘Refined Serenity,’ broadening its meaning to ‘a sophisticated space that delicately captures the peaceful time of family.’ The symbol design is shaped based on the arch form, the most stable architectural shape, and the abbreviation ‘FAM’ from ‘FAMILIE.’ The brand color, green, which conveys friendliness and sophistication, reflects the company’s commitment to providing practical and elegant residential spaces.
Shindonga Construction is enhancing residential quality not only through the brand but also by specializing apartment environment design, developing new floor plans, and specialized designs. The concept of apartments has been expanded beyond simply ‘space’ to a ‘complex community facility where people can gather and enjoy together.’ Additionally, they developed a customized floor plan called ‘EasyQ-Beta’ to increase options for residents. A clean zone was created as a separate space with a middle door from the entrance to the living room to separate movement lines, and the master bedroom balcony integrates an outdoor unit room and evacuation space, securing extra space that can be used as a storage room. Recognizing these capabilities, the company received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the 2020 Korea Land Grand Prize.
Next month, Shindonga Construction will supply ‘Uijeongbu Station Familie I.’ It is a single unit type with an exclusive area of 84㎡, designed with all types featuring a 4-bay layout. The design was innovated with a ceiling height of 2.4m and an 11-shaped kitchen, and the top floor’s four units will have attics. The complex consists of 82 households and includes self-parking lots, a library, reading rooms, cafes, and other complex community facilities within the site.
A Shindonga Construction official said, "Shindonga Familie appeals to customers as a brand image faithful to the basics, where the true value of an apartment can be felt more and more the longer you live in it," adding, "We will strive to redefine the meaning of family so that Familie can become a brand that resonates with and satisfies consumers."
