According to Yonhap News on the 26th, Lee is scheduled to depart from Warsaw Chopin Airport in Poland on the evening of the same day (Korean time) and arrive at Incheon Airport on the morning of the 27th.
Lee, a former captain of the Navy Special Warfare Command (UDT/SEAL), left for Ukraine in early March, declaring his intention to fight against Russian forces. He was injured on the battlefield and is reportedly returning home for rehabilitation.
Lee Geun was reported for violating the Passport Act and other charges after entering Ukraine without permission in March. Violations of the Passport Act can result in imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won, as well as administrative sanctions such as passport invalidation. Accordingly, the police are expected to take him into custody as soon as he arrives at Incheon Airport.
