[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Port Safety Management Standing Council conducted a two-day on-site safety management survey at Busan Port from the 24th to the 25th.

The survey was conducted targeting Busan Port's North Port Sinsundae Pier, Gamcheon Port, and New Port Pier 2.

The investigation involved a joint participation of government and public institutions such as the Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office, BPA, safety specialized organizations including the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, Korea Port Training Institute, and the Busan Port Workers' Union, which is actually engaged in cargo handling operations, enhancing the effectiveness of the inspection.

The survey focused on pedestrian and worker safety within the port, including ▲the condition of pedestrian pathways ▲the status of safety devices on cargo handling machinery ▲confirmation of heavy equipment work plan documentation. Identified safety hazards will be continuously managed and addressed.

The Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office and BPA have been operating the 'Busan Port Safety Management Standing Council' together with port and safety-related organizations and port-related business and labor groups, carrying out various activities to create a work environment where port workers can work with peace of mind.

Kang Yong-seok, Commissioner of the Busan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, and Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, stated, “We will realize a Busan Port without safety blind spots through not only safety management surveys but also continuous safety inspections.”
