Partial Opening of Theme Garden Skywalk
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun announced on the 26th that the Forest Sky Garden has recently appeared in Jirisan Garden, attracting the attention of visitors.
The skywalk construction, which connects the Starlight Forest Garden through the Sky Garden piercing through a large pine tree to the Wild Garden, began its foundation work in July 2020 and is currently progressing with the installation of cascades and rock gardens.
This skywalk, connecting the refreshing pine forest, is partially open and provides visitors with a unique enjoyment.
At night, it transforms brilliantly with the emission of lighting, offering a distinctive change between day and night.
Walking along the skywalk trail, visitors encounter the Wild Garden themed on the fairy tale "The Wizard of Oz."
Here, around the natural bamboo maze garden, the Emerald City's castle, which is the background of The Wizard of Oz, and Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, as if just stepped out of the fairy tale, are hidden throughout the garden, which is expected to greatly enhance children's interest in forest experiences.
A county official said, “Once Jirisan Garden is completed, families and couples will be able to stroll through the starry forest and fully heal, and with the promotion of healing event programs in the forest, it will provide vivid natural resting places and beautiful sights to residents and tourists.”
Currently, the ongoing Jirisan Garden construction includes a total of five themed gardens: Sky Garden, Starlight Forest Garden, Wild Garden, Private Garden, and Harmony Garden, along with the installation of entrance gates and a glass greenhouse plant caf?, scheduled for completion in August next year.
