Gwangju Buk-gu Operates Health Classes for Children in Daycare Centers and Kindergartens

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 26th that it will operate the ‘2022 Saessak Ttunteun Health Class’ for daycare centers and kindergartens.

This project was prepared to help form proper health management habits during early childhood.

Buk-gu will conduct seven health practice programs including oral care, nutrition, physical activity, obesity prevention, and atopy and asthma prevention for about 2,000 children at 38 daycare centers and kindergartens until October.

In particular, face-to-face classes such as children’s dental experience and making nutritious snacks, which were suspended due to COVID-19, will be resumed, and non-face-to-face programs such as distributing videos and teaching aids for proper eating movements and obesity prevention will be conducted in parallel.

Buk-gu plans to conduct a satisfaction survey on the health class in July and December and actively reflect the results in next year’s project.

A Buk-gu official said, “We hope this health class program will help improve children’s health and physical activity.”
