iHerb announced on the 26th the launch of a new product from its private brand (PB), California Gold Nutrition (CGN), called 'CGN Immune and Respiratory Care.'
CGN Immune and Respiratory Care is made primarily from elderberry, a type of berry, and African geranium (Pelargonium sidoides) extract, which may help promote seasonal health. Elderberry contains vitamins A, B, and C, as well as the antioxidant anthocyanin, and is known to enhance immune function and help prevent colds. African geranium, commonly called Umkaloabo, is known for its antiviral, antibacterial, and expectorant effects.
The product is manufactured using a 'capsule-in-capsule' technology, where a small capsule is placed inside a larger liquid-filled capsule. This technology enables 'dual controlled release,' allowing the liquid in the large capsule to be released quickly while the contents of the smaller inner capsule are released slowly, improving absorption of the two ingredients in the body. The product is available in vegetable capsules containing 30 or 90 capsules. A daily intake of one capsule once a day is recommended.
CGN, iHerb’s flagship PB brand, has been the top-selling brand in the Korean market for several years and enjoys great popularity. It is managed and directly shipped from iHerb’s smart logistics center located in California, USA.
Additionally, iHerb has launched the 'Lake Avenue Nutrition Calm Powder Drink Mix,' a stress relief supplement. It contains L-tryptophan and L-theanine, which help relieve tension and promote restful sleep. The product is a powder with a natural blueberry lavender flavor. Lake Avenue Nutrition is also an iHerb PB brand and represents a premium supplement line.
Choi Ji-yeon, head of iHerb Korea, said, "iHerb’s private brands CGN and Lake Avenue Nutrition, manufactured with strict quality control and carefully selected premium ingredients, are especially popular in the Korean market," adding, "With the endemic phase (periodic outbreaks of infectious diseases), we expect the new products to gain popularity among Korean consumers who have increased interest in boosting immunity and managing respiratory health."
