[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 24th, the Gangnam Police Station conducted a joint inspection with Gangnam-gu Office and others on the illegal installation of hidden cameras in the public restrooms at Gangnam Station.
This activity was carried out by a joint inspection team consisting of 25 members, including the Gangnam-gu Office's Citizen Surveillance Group against Illegal Filming, the Gangnam Station manager and staff, and members of the Gangnam Police Station Youth Policy Advisory Group. The Youth Policy Advisory Group is composed of a total of 9 students from elementary, middle, and high schools within the jurisdiction of Gangnam Police Station, and they have been active since their inauguration ceremony last month.
According to Gangnam Police Station, more than 50% of illegal filming crimes occurring in the jurisdiction took place inside the subway. In response, the Gangnam Police Station stated, "With the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures, outdoor activities by citizens are increasing," and added, "We plan to strengthen inspections of public restrooms at Gangnam Station to eliminate citizens' concerns."
