Recruitment of Participating Businesses for the 'City of Taste Mokpo' Top Restaurant Support Project


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do, known as the "City of Taste," announced on the 25th that it is recruiting top restaurants to participate in the Top Restaurant Gourmet Academy and Meal Kit Launch School.


Amid the recent revitalization of tourism due to the COVID-19 endemic effect, the city is conducting the "Mokpo Top Restaurant Gourmet Academy" to strengthen the capabilities of top restaurants representing the taste of Mokpo through gourmet tourism marketing education and management mindset enhancement.


In the gourmet academy, which received high satisfaction from graduates in the first and second half of last year's education, systematic training by expert instructors in the food service management field will be conducted over a total of six sessions, including in-person classes every Tuesday and visits to advanced restaurants, until July 12.


The education program consists of ▲Management mindset strategies for the food service industry in the endemic era ▲Branding strategies for the food service industry ▲Customer analysis strategies and strategic techniques to increase sales ▲Big data analysis in the food service industry and promotional marketing planning ▲Visits to advanced restaurants in other regions.


In line with the trend of the expanding meal kit market due to the increase in single-person households and high convenience, the city will also conduct the "Mokpo Top Restaurant Meal Kit Launch School."


The "Mokpo Top Restaurant Meal Kit Launch School" will be held for 20 top restaurants over six sessions, including in-person classes every Wednesday and visits to advanced restaurants, until July 13.


The meal kit launch school curriculum includes ▲Understanding the entry of the food service industry into the online market in the with-COVID era ▲Understanding meal kit product development ▲Essential permits and licenses for meal kit manufacturing and sales ▲Feedback on menu meal kit conversion for each establishment ▲Meal kit product sales strategies.


Top restaurants wishing to participate can download the application form from the Mokpo City Hall website and visit the Tourism Division of Mokpo City Hall to apply by the 27th.


A city official stated, "We ask for the participation of many top restaurants in this education program, which will help improve the management of food service establishments that have suffered difficulties due to COVID-19 and contribute to the revitalization of food tourism."
