A Total of 12 Sessions, Education Conducted from a Gender Perspective
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do held the opening ceremony of the 6th Jangheung-gun Women Leaders University on the 24th at the Gunmin Hall, attended by 40 students.
According to the county on the 25th, the Jangheung-gun Women Leaders University is an educational program aimed at cultivating women leaders who will lead community development through the empowerment of women, and has been promoted since 2017 to firmly establish the foundation for a women-friendly city.
This year, the program is commissioned and operated by the Jeonnam Women and Family Foundation (Director Ahn Gyeongju), a specialized institution for women's empowerment education.
The education will be conducted every Tuesday from the opening day until August 9, totaling 12 sessions.
The program includes ▲ Viewing Jangheung-gun from a gender perspective ▲ Strengthening women’s leadership ▲ Understanding gender-sensitive policies and gender-responsive budgeting ▲ Understanding women-friendly cities ▲ Drawing Jangheung safety maps, with top experts invited from each field.
A Jangheung-gun official stated, “We hope that through the Women Leaders University curriculum, local women leaders will expand their social participation and become confident women,” and added, “We ask for your interest and participation in creating a gender-equal, women-friendly city, Jangheung.”
