Lim Young-woong Tops Melon Artist Chart Overall... 'Surpasses IU and BTS'

Melon Artist Chart No.1... Accumulated Fan Count Reaches 118,295

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Singer Lim Young-woong has ranked first overall among artists on the music platform Melon.

According to Melon on the 25th, Lim Young-woong topped the artist chart (as of the 23rd). The evaluation metrics recorded scores of 10 for music, 7.1 for fan growth, 8.3 for likes, 7.9 for photos, and 7.5 for videos.

Previously, Lim Young-woong demonstrated his influence by ranking first in the singer category and first in the trot category in the May brand reputation rankings. IU took second place on the Melon chart, followed by Psy in third and BTS in fourth.

The Melon artist chart selects the top 50 based on weighted scores calculated from each category. The aggregation period runs from 0:00 to 23:59 of the previous day.

The criteria for each category are music (number of streaming and download users), fan growth (number of new fans), likes (total likes across all content), photos (number of photo viewers), and videos (number of video viewers).

Lim Young-woong set a record for the highest first-week sales among solo artists with his first full-length album ‘I’m HERO (IM HERO)’. The initial sales surpassed 1.1 million copies, showcasing his strong presence.

Meanwhile, since the 6th, Lim Young-woong has been meeting fans through his first solo nationwide tour concert ‘IM HERO’. Starting in Goyang, the tour continues to Changwon, Daejeon, Daegu, Incheon, and is preparing for the Seoul performance.
