Hapcheon-gun, May Public-Private Joint Youth Harmful Environment Improvement Activities

A public-private joint campaign to improve harmful environments for youth held in Hapcheon-gun.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, conducted a joint public-private youth harmful environment improvement campaign on the 24th of May, Youth Month, in collaboration with Hapcheon Police Station, the Office of Education, the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, and Youth Guidance Committee members.

This joint inspection targeted PC rooms, karaoke rooms, convenience stores, pubs, and restaurants frequently visited by youth to spread awareness of youth protection and prevent delinquent behaviors such as underage drinking, smoking, and loitering.

The focus was on improving the youth harmful environment by checking for violations of youth entry and employment prohibition, and whether harmful environment prevention stickers were properly attached.

Additionally, campaigns were promoted to prohibit the sale of alcohol and cigarettes to youth and to strictly verify identification cards.

Oh Mi-hwa, Director of the Senior, Child, and Women’s Division, stated, “Through harmful environment improvement activities, we will prevent youth from exposure to harmful establishments and drugs, and prevent delinquent behavior, creating an environment where local youth can grow up safely and healthily.”
