Korea Customs Service Holds Customs Administration Briefing on 'Free Trade Agreements'

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Customs Service announced on the 25th that it will hold a 'Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Customs Administration Briefing' for export-import companies and customs clearance officials at the Seoul Main Customs Office on the 8th of next month.

The briefing will provide information on major policies prepared by the Korea Customs Service to support the utilization of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), including revised laws, key contents of new agreements, and changes in the system. It will also introduce major authoritative interpretation cases and include a Q&A session.

Previously, the Korea Customs Service collected opinions from the field and consulted with related ministries to establish support policies to enable domestic companies to utilize RCEP stably.

The main contents include ▲clarification of execution standards for the preparation and issuance of connected certificates of origin ▲establishment of a voluntary format for certificates of origin (recommended format for origin declaration forms) ▲expansion of simplified RCEP certificate of origin items.

The briefing will be conducted in a hybrid format, combining offline and online participation. Export-import companies and customs clearance officials wishing to attend the briefing can apply through the Korea Customs Service FTA Portal.

A Korea Customs Service official stated, “The Korea Customs Service will continue to actively support domestic export-import companies in utilizing free trade agreements and expand communication with the field to actively reflect improvements in the system.”
