[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] SC First Bank is offering a special interest rate of up to 2.0% per annum to customers opening a free deposit and withdrawal account for the first time.

SC First Bank announced on the 25th that it will provide a special interest rate of up to 2.0% per annum (before tax) to first-time customers who open an 'SC First My Signature Account' by the 31st of this month.

Launched in July last year, the My Signature Account is a product specialized in managing surplus funds by offering high interest rates linked to free deposits and withdrawals and banking transaction performance.

In this event, for each deposit transaction, if the banking transaction performance exceeds 100 million KRW starting from the second month after the deposit month, an event interest rate of up to 1.7% will be provided on the deposited amount held for more than 31 days. Additionally, customers who are transacting with SC First Bank for the first time will receive an extra 0.3 percentage points (p) interest rate. However, the event interest rate applies only to deposits up to a maximum of 1 billion KRW for three months.

Here, banking transaction performance refers to the total balance at the end of the month two months prior of the securities (funds) held by the depositor at SC First Bank, trust contracts (excluding MMT and unspecified money trusts), and KRW and foreign currency deposit and withdrawal accounts.

Along with this, a prize giveaway event is also being held. Among the eligible accounts, customers with a balance of 100 million KRW or more at the end of June will be entered into a draw where the 1st prize (1 winner) will receive a 'Ceragem Pause M2', the 2nd prize (3 winners) will receive an 'LG Aero Tower Objet Collection heater and air purifier', and the 3rd prize (6 winners) will receive an 'iPad Air (64GB)'.
