[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] The representative traditional folk cultural heritage event of Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongbuk, the ‘2022 Gyeongsan Jain Dano Festival,’ will be held for three days from June 3 to June 5 in the Gyejeong Forest area of Jain-myeon.

Designated as National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 44, the Gyeongsan Jain Dano Festival is known as a Dano event that has been passed down in Jain-myeon, Gyeongsan-si since the Silla Dynasty.

On the opening day, June 3, five main events of the Jain Dano Festival will unfold, starting with the parade of General Hojang, followed by the General Han Ceremony, Jain Dano Gut, Yeowonmu, and Palgwangdae. After the opening ceremony at 5 p.m., a traditional house concert will be held on the special stage at Sijungdang from 7 p.m.

On the second day, June 4, invited performances of National Intangible Cultural Heritage such as Gimcheon Geumnung Bitnae Nongak and Bongsan Mask Dance, performances of Gyejeong Deul Sori, a Gyeongbuk Intangible Cultural Heritage, archery demonstrations, and military band performances will continue.

Additionally, a pop concert featuring familiar movie music and popular songs, as well as the Gyeongsan Arirang Festival competition and special performances, will take place.

On the last day, June 5, performances of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Ganggangsullae and Yeongsan Tug-of-War, performances by the Gyeongsan Municipal Theater Company and the Pyongyang Art Troupe will be held. The Palgwangdae Mask King Song Festival and Dano Concert are also prepared, with famous singers such as Hong Jin-young, Eun Ga-eun, and Yoon Su-hyun scheduled to perform at the Dano Concert.

Other side events include the Gyejeong Forest Art Exhibition, wildflower artwork exhibition, Dokdo and Dano photo and food exhibitions, providing various attractions.
