Display Personalized Information Analysis on the First Screen
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] K-Bank has revamped its mobile application (app) by applying machine learning operations (MLOps) algorithms to provide customized information tailored to customer preferences.
K-Bank announced on the 24th that it has revamped its mobile app by applying this feature. The biggest characteristic of this revamp is that it has transformed into a personalized app that understands individual customer preferences.
The app's home screen is configured differently for each customer. The 'notification window' at the top of the home screen shows optimized information for the customer. It notifies not only easily overlooked alerts such as savings and deposit maturity, card reissuance, and loan extensions but also news like salary deposits and birthday congratulations.
Additionally, customers can view their accounts and cards at a glance on the home screen. It is possible to check and transfer funds not only from K-Bank but also from all deposit and withdrawal accounts at other institutions. The order can also be adjusted to show frequently used accounts first.
Optimization is also applied in the recommendation tab, which gathers K-Bank products and services. Among products, services, and events, the app displays content that individual customers have recently shown high interest in and need first.
To achieve this, K-Bank introduced a big data system developed independently. Based on machine learning algorithms (MLOps), it detects and analyzes app users’ preferences and dwell time in real time. This is similar to how online shopping malls recommend products tailored to customer tastes, but in this case, it recommends financial products.
In addition, efforts have been made throughout the app to enhance visual intuitiveness. The app screens pursue uniformity and are composed more simply. Going forward, K-Bank plans to continue improving customer convenience by revamping the timeline within the app and other features. A K-Bank official stated, "We will continue to develop as a customer-friendly digital financial platform that reflects customer voices."
