[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min gave an urgent order at around 11:40 a.m. on the 23rd to fully focus on extinguishing the fire of unknown cause that occurred at a clothing logistics warehouse in Majang-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The minister said, "The National Fire Agency, Gyeonggi-do, and Icheon-si, along with related organizations, should prioritize securing the safety of firefighters during the fire suppression process. Although it is understood that all personnel have evacuated, I hope they will do their best in searching and rescuing any people who may not have evacuated," and added, "please ensure thorough measures to prevent secondary damage to nearby workplaces and residents.”

Meanwhile, the fire authorities are conducting firefighting operations with the deployment of about 100 firefighters. Currently, they are conducting a search for people and working to prevent the fire from spreading, and the cause of the fire will be investigated in the future.

The logistics warehouse where the fire occurred is estimated to be the size of two soccer fields. Immediately after the fire broke out, 134 workers evacuated on their own, and no casualties have been confirmed so far.
