[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Lotte Confectionery announced on the 23rd that it has launched a sugar-free dessert brand called 'ZERO'.

Last September, as part of the 'ZERO Project,' Lotte Confectionery introduced two prototype products and judged that the market potential was sufficient, leading to the release of five products under the ZERO brand. Along with the official brand launch, they plan to carry out extensive marketing activities, including TV commercials.

The ZERO products introduced this time consist of five items: snacks such as 'ZERO Chocolate Chip Cookie,' 'ZERO Fruit Jelly,' and 'ZERO Cacao Cake,' as well as frozen treats like 'ZERO Ice Cola' and 'ZERO Ice Choco Bar.' Instead of sugar, erythritol and maltitol were used, and notably, ZERO Fruit Jelly and ZERO Ice Cola have approximately 25% and 30% fewer calories compared to regular products, respectively.

The ZERO brand packaging uses eco-friendly materials such as Protego and FSC-certified paper, reflecting an environmentally conscious image. They plan to introduce various products such as chocolates and candies in the future.

Starting today, Lotte Confectionery will sell the products through online channels like Lotte Sweet Mall and Market Kurly, as well as in the four major department stores in Korea, and plans to expand sales channels from there.
