Gyeonggi Fire Department Conducts 'Firefighter Safety Assurance' Training at Disaster Sites

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters conducted a 'Fire Station Safety Assurance Field Training' for five days from the 16th to the 20th to improve the safety of on-site personnel during emergencies.

The training, held at the Urban Search and Rescue Training Ground of the Gyeonggi Fire School in Yongin and the Multipurpose Training Center of the Special Response Team, was attended by over 200 instructors, including rescue team leaders and on-site command (command investigation) team leaders from 35 fire stations across the province.

The training focused on enhancing the safety of on-site personnel through emergency escape techniques and rapid intervention team (RIT) operations during emergencies, covering ▲ defensive postures for emergency evacuation and confined space entry and rescue techniques ▲ emergency escape techniques using basic equipment ▲ and techniques for rescuing isolated firefighters through rapid intervention team operations.

In particular, the instructors who participated in the training will conduct separate transfer education sessions for employees at each fire station based on the content of this training.

Choi Byung-il, head of the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters, emphasized, "Safe escape from the scene for oneself and colleagues during unexpected emergencies is more important than anything else," adding, "We will continue to conduct such training to protect the precious lives of residents and ensure the safety of firefighters."
