"Pulmuone Opens 'Plantude' First Vegan-Certified Restaurant by a Food Company"

Certified Vegan Restaurant by Vegan Standard Certification Institute
Introducing 13 Menu Items Featuring 'Plant-Based Oriented Foods' Such as Plant-Based Meat Alternatives

"Pulmuone Opens 'Plantude' First Vegan-Certified Restaurant by a Food Company" The first vegan-certified restaurant by a food company, 'Planted,' located on the B1 floor of COEX Mall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Pulmuone has opened the first vegan-certified restaurant among food companies.

Pulmuone Food & Culture, a lifestyle service specialist under Pulmuone, announced on the 23rd that it has received vegan restaurant certification from the Vegan Standard Certification Institute and opened the first 'Plantude' location at COEX Mall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where customers can enjoy 100% plant-based ingredients.

Plantude is the first restaurant among major food companies to receive vegan certification. To obtain vegan restaurant certification, all menu items must be vegan-certified. Not only the primary raw materials and ingredients but also kitchen facilities, cooking utensils, and tableware are strictly inspected according to rigorous standards, making this certification known to be very demanding.

Plantude is a compound word combining 'Plant,' meaning plant-based, and 'Attitude.' It signifies providing delicious and enjoyable meals with a plant-based diet while promoting an attitude that considers the Earth and the environment.

The first Plantude location is a 144.6㎡ open kitchen-style restaurant on the basement first floor of COEX Mall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where customers can watch the cooking process. There are a total of 47 seats, including dining booths and single seats for solo diners. Each table is equipped with a tablet PC that allows customers to order menu items and check detailed information such as ingredients used, nutritional content, and calories.

The menu consists of 13 items using Pulmuone’s plant-based proteins and plant-based meat alternatives. All menu items are made with 100% plant-based ingredients and offer familiar fusion flavors that are easy to enjoy in everyday life. Representative dishes include 'Plant Soy Bulgogi Rice Bowl,' 'Tofu Katsu Vegetable Rice Bowl,' 'Triple Gamtae White Tteokbokki,' and 'Crumble Tofu Bibimbap & Soft Tofu Stew.'

Lee Woo-bong, CEO of Pulmuone Food & Culture, stated, “Amid the healthy pleasure trend of the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), we opened Plantude to break the prejudice that vegan food is tasteless and to provide a satisfying meal for everyone.”
