[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] LG Electronics is targeting the medical service market by continuously supplying LG CLOi robots to medical institutions.
On the 22nd, LG Electronics announced that it recently supplied the LG CLOi GuideBot to the Korea Medical Foundation Comprehensive Health Screening Center in Yeouido, Seoul. At Seoul Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital and Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, LG CLOi ServeBots were supplied, and at a hospital in Yongin, the LG CLOi UV-C Bot was supplied, continuously expanding customer experiences with robot solutions optimized for non-face-to-face medical services.
Previously, in 2020, LG CLOi ServeBots were first supplied to the outpatient department of Seoul National University Hospital, and since then, LG CLOi robots have been continuously supplied to various medical institutions including Ewha Medical Foundation, National Cancer Center, and numerous private hospitals.
LG Electronics provides customers with new experiences and value of robot medical services, a next-generation medical service, through its advanced robot solutions such as ▲facility location guidance for patients and visitors ▲medical staff assistance including delivery of medical supplies ▲hygiene management through non-face-to-face disinfection.
The ‘LG CLOi GuideBot’ provides easy-to-understand information about hospital facilities and usage to patients and guardians through a touchscreen display and voice guidance. It also offers multilingual guidance in English, Chinese, Japanese, and other languages for foreign visitors.
The ‘LG CLOi ServeBot’ safely delivers blood samples, medicines, and other items to their destinations based on autonomous driving and obstacle avoidance technology. It can independently use elevators and pass through automatic doors within the hospital, enabling fast and accurate movement.
The recently launched ‘LG CLOi UV-C Bot’ is optimized for non-face-to-face disinfection tasks in spaces requiring frequent sanitation such as patient rooms and examination rooms. Based on autonomous driving technology, it moves along the walls of rooms like discharged patient rooms and examination rooms, removing various harmful bacteria with UV-C (Ultraviolet-C) lamps installed on both sides of its body.
Robot management is also convenient. Operators remotely monitor the robot’s status in real time through an integrated control system and manage usage history and operation schedules.
Roh Kyu-chan, Executive Director of LG Electronics’ Robot Business Division, said, “Based on our internalized core robot technology capabilities, we will not only provide customers with differentiated robot service solutions unique to LG but also continuously introduce robot experiences that help daily life.”
