Financial Supervisory Service Recruiting 'University Student Financial Education Volunteer Group'

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) is recruiting members for the ‘FSS University Student Financial Education Volunteer Group.’ Approximately 150 university students selected for the volunteer group will conduct financial education volunteer activities targeting financially vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.

Since 2012, the FSS has been selecting university students for the volunteer group and conducting programs such as ‘After-School Financial Classes’ and ‘Digital Finance Education.’ Since its launch, 220,000 people nationwide have participated in 4,247 volunteer activities.

This year, the number of selected members increased by 50 from 100 last year. Eligible applicants are first to third-year students and students on leave from four-year universities who can commit to at least one year of activity. Applicants must meet at least one requirement, such as completing the FSS ‘Practical Finance’ course or having experience in related volunteer work.

Once selected, volunteers will undergo instructor training and then work as financial education instructors. The activity period lasts up to two years from the volunteer group’s inauguration ceremony. Applications are open from the 23rd of this month until the 30th of next month and can be submitted through the e-Financial Education Center website.

Volunteers will receive a certificate of appointment and a certificate of volunteer activity signed by the FSS Commissioner, as well as other rewards.
