The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, 23,462 new cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 17,938,399. The number of new confirmed cases decreased by 1,663 from the previous day (25,125), maintaining the 20,000 range for three consecutive days.
The number of confirmed cases on this day was the lowest in 16 weeks since January 29 (17,509) based on Saturday announcements. It decreased by 6,114 compared to a week ago on the 13th (29,576) and by 16,128 compared to two weeks ago on the 7th (39,590).
From the 15th, the daily new confirmed cases over a week were 25,425 → 13,290 → 35,107 → 31,349 → 28,130 → 25,125 → 23,462, averaging 25,984 per day.
Among the new confirmed cases, 11 were imported from overseas. The remaining 23,451 were domestic cases infected locally.

The number of critically ill patients was 235, 16 fewer than the previous day (251), marking three consecutive days in the 200s. The number of COVID-19 deaths reported the previous day was 26, 17 fewer than the day before (43). The death toll has been in double digits for 22 consecutive days since the 30th of last month (70). This is the lowest in 97 days since February 14 (21).
The cumulative death toll is 23,911, and the cumulative COVID-19 fatality rate is 0.13%.
