Korean Women's Archery Wins Gold Medal in World Cup Compound Team Event The Korean women's compound team (Kim Yoon-hee, Oh Yoo-hyun, Song Yoon-soo) scored 232 points in the women's compound team final held at Gwangju Women's University, the birthplace of women's archery, on the 21st, defeating Estonia (228 points).

The South Korean women's compound archery team, consisting of Kim Yoon-hee, Oh Yoo-hyun, and Song Yoon-soo, scored 232 points in the team final match of the Gwangju 2022 Hyundai Archery World Cup held at Gwangju Women's University on the 21st, defeating Estonia (228 points) to claim the gold medal.


The compound team event was decided over 4 ends with 6 arrows per end (a total of 240 points).


Korea led by 1 point during the 2nd and 3rd ends, then scored consecutive 10s including two X-tens in the 4th end, showcasing a perfect 60-point performance.


The Korean women's compound team advanced to the final by defeating India 230-228 in the semifinals.


The bronze medal went to India, who won 232-231 against Turkey in the previous match.


Kim Yoon-hee said, "I am very happy to have prepared hard and achieved good results while competing on home ground."


Oh Yoo-hyun expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the support of many citizens, I was able to shoot confidently."


Song Yoon-soo explained, "Not giving up and staying focused until the end, just like in practice, decided the victory."


In the women's compound individual semifinals held that afternoon, Kim Yoon-hee will compete against Daphne Quintero (Mexico) for the gold medal.


Meanwhile, the Archery World Cup is considered one of the three major big events in archery, along with the Summer Olympics and the World Championships.


It started in 2006 and is held five times annually in major countries across continents. The top 8 in each category from the 1st to 4th stages qualify for the final stage, where the finals are held.
