President Joko Widodo held a virtual speech in the afternoon and announced, "Exports of crude palm oil and derivatives such as palm olein will resume from the 23rd."

He stated that the decision to resume exports was made considering the circumstances of those working in the palm oil industry.

The Indonesian government had banned exports of crude palm oil and most derivatives since the 28th of last month to quell the 'cooking oil crisis.' This had affected prices in the international market.
