Jin Byeong-yeong, Independent Candidate for Hamyang County Governor, Launches Election Campaign with the Power of 'Gunmin' Not 'Gukmin'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jin Byeong-yeong, candidate for mayor of Hamyang County, held a "Victory Departure Ceremony" for the nationwide simultaneous local elections at 8:30 a.m. on the 19th at the entrance of Jirisan Hamyang Market in Hamyang-eup, Hamyang County, carrying the independent candidate number 4.

At the departure ceremony attended by over 3,000 supporters, independent candidates united and participated. Seo Man-hoon, candidate for provincial councilor; Lee Dong-jin, Noh Si-tae, Im Chae-sook, Park Man-ho, Ha Deok-hyun, candidates for district A county councilor; Kang Chan-hee, Jeong Young-su, candidates for district B county councilor; and Kim Yoon-taek, Choi Byeong-sang, candidates for district C county councilor attended, forecasting an independent candidate surge.

On this day, Kim Yu-seon, who leads the Hamyang brand known as "Strawberry Mom, Onion Dad," gave a sponsored speech, receiving cheers and applause.

In his opening remarks at the departure ceremony, candidate Jin Byeong-yeong said, "I am approaching this election with the slogan 'If you change, it changes completely.' I will start by changing myself, Jin Byeong-yeong. Please give me the opportunity to win this election and firmly change and save Hamyang, which is in crisis," appealing for support.

Candidate Jin defined the People Power Party candidate screening as a "secretive collusive contract nomination," targeting Kim Tae-ho, the local committee chairman, and candidate Seo Chun-su.

He continued, "Many independent candidates here are victims who, despite having excellent abilities and qualifications, did not even get a chance to participate in the primary or were eliminated without clear reasons," adding, "There has never been such a coalition of so many independent candidates in the history of our local elections. Please give us the opportunity to elect them in this election so that we can work together for the development of Hamyang. Please save the independent candidates with 'the power of the residents,' not the People Power Party," raising his voice.

Kim Yu-seon, the "Strawberry Mom," emphasized in her sponsored speech, "Candidate Seo Chun-su is a person who discarded his single-term promise four years ago like a used item. He also discarded promises made to the residents like a used item. Wouldn't our residents be treated like used items?" She stressed, "Candidate Seo must never be elected this time. Electing Jin Byeong-yeong, who works with integrity without selfish motives, will make Hamyang a happy place with a future for our children and Hamyang."

After the departure ceremony, candidate Jin Byeong-yeong spent the first official day of campaigning by visiting Hamyang-eup and Seosangjang, where the five-day market is held, to win over voters' hearts.

The ceremony was hosted by comedian Kim Hyeong-jin, who has had a long relationship with candidate Jin Byeong-yeong. Kim Hyeong-jin plans to support candidate Jin's election victory throughout the election period.
