Gwangju Bank Joins the Korean Red Cross 1 Billion Donation Club, First in Gwangju and Jeonnam

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 19th that it held an award ceremony for joining the Red Cross 1 Billion Donation Club, the first in Gwangju and Jeonnam, at its headquarters with Gwangju Bank President Song Jong-wook and Heo Jeong, Chairman of the Korean Red Cross Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter, in attendance.

Gwangju Bank, which joined the Korean Red Cross 500 Million Club as the first in Gwangju and Jeonnam in 2020, has also become the first in the region to join the 1 Billion Club this time, establishing itself as a leader in spreading a beautiful corporate culture of sharing and volunteering in the local community.

The Korean Red Cross high-value donation club, the ‘Red Cross Honors Company’ (RCHC), is a sharing platform standardized by the Korean Red Cross for the first time to realize corporate shared value. It certifies the realization of social value sharing in stages according to cumulative donation amounts of 100 million, 500 million, 1 billion, 3 billion, 5 billion, and 10 billion KRW.

Gwangju Bank participates annually in the Korean Red Cross special membership fee fundraising and donated 600 million KRW last year as a fund for the underprivileged to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. As a result, the cumulative donation amount since 2010 has reached 1.17 billion KRW.
