Incheon City Recruits 20 Couples for 'Small Wedding' Program... Support Includes Studio Photography and Invitations

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City is supporting couples preparing for small weddings.

The city announced that it is recruiting 20 couples who will start anew with the 'Incheon-style Small Wedding' until the 27th.

The small wedding is a support project for couples-to-be to simplify the 'formality' and practice the value of becoming a couple. It is part of a sound wedding culture project that helps reduce the economic burden on couples-to-be through practical small weddings and enables them to have unique and special weddings.

Any couple-to-be residing in Incheon City can apply, and the selected candidates will be individually notified in June.

Selected couples will receive support for wedding consulting, wedding venue, studio photography, dress and makeup costs (within 1 million KRW), and mobile invitation card production.

Recommended venues for small weddings include Wolmido Lock Gate, Harbor Park Hotel 4th floor Garden Wedding Hall, Hwadojin Park, Incheon Dohobu Government Office, Caisson 24, Arabatgil Maehwa Hill, and Cheongna Lake Park (Music Fountain).

The city plans to expand small weddings by additionally providing education for couples-to-be and parents to build happy families, and continuously discovering various spaces with stories linked to local resources.

An official from Incheon City said, "We hope that the Incheon-style Small Wedding will spread a reasonable and value-oriented wedding culture," and added, "We ask for the interest of many couples-to-be who are preparing unique weddings or are burdened by excessive wedding costs."
