Gyeonggi-do Fire Department Special Response Team Conducts 'Fire Station Rope Rescue Training'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Special Response Team of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters successfully completed a three-day rope rescue training conducted for fire stations.

The Special Response Team announced that from the 17th to the 19th, a three-day training was held at the Special Response Team's rope rescue training center, aiming to enhance on-site response capabilities through mastering personal safety assurance and life-saving techniques for isolated rescue targets. A total of 72 rescue team members from fire stations across the province participated in this training.

To increase the effectiveness of this training, the Special Response Team formed a group of 11 expert instructors who conducted preliminary capacity-building training and produced a video covering the five basic rope access techniques.

Additionally, over three sessions with 24 participants each day, advanced rescue skills such as knot passing and rope switching were taught in a one-on-one matching format with the expert instructors.

Park Seung-joo, head of the Special Response Team, stated, "Through realistic training, we have prepared various programs to quickly and safely save the lives of residents in various disasters," and added, "We will continue to develop and operate diverse programs to protect the lives of residents."
