Korail Gwangju Jeonnam Supports Underprivileged Youth on the Occasion of the Moon Festival

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Nanumnuri Volunteer Group of the Korea Railroad Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters carried out social contribution activities on the 18th at the Haeryong Regional Children's Center located in Suncheon City.

This volunteer activity, conducted in celebration of Youth Month in May, was carried out at the regional children's center in Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon City, which is relatively overlooked outside the urban area. The activities included sponsoring learning materials and conducting environmental cleanup within the center.

Additionally, counseling sessions on concerns and career guidance were held for underprivileged youth to support the future dream trees so that they do not lose hope and can grow steadfastly. Notably, the meaning was enhanced by the joint participation of labor and management from the selection of beneficiaries to the activities.

An official from the Yeosu High-Speed Train Crew Office, which organized this volunteer activity, stated, “It is meaningful and rewarding to be able to provide even a little help to youth who are growing up under difficult circumstances,” and added, “We will continue to practice ESG management and strive to fulfill the role of a public enterprise through ongoing support such as the Happy Train for vulnerable youth.”
