Hyundai Engineering & Construction Selected as 'Preferred Partner' for Busan Eco Delta Smart City

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 18th that it has been finally selected as the preferred negotiation partner in the public offering for the creation and operation of the Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Pilot City.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction participated in the public offering as a private business operator of the project corporation (SPC), forming 'The In (人) Consortium' with LG CNS, Shinhan Bank, Hanyang, SK Ecoplant, LG HelloVision, and Humax Mobility.

This project involves jointly creating a smart city leading district within Eco Delta City, located in Gangseo-gu, Busan, and establishing and operating smart services. Hyundai Engineering & Construction plans to implement a new urban model by integrating energy self-sufficiency and advanced technologies, maximizing spatial efficiency and benefit convenience, and utilizing zero-energy buildings. The consortium will implement a total of 25 smart innovation services, including transportation, healthcare, and platforms, and operate them for more than 15 years.

A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official stated, "We will establish an integrated operation strategy from the initial stage for stable and efficient operation," adding, "We plan to provide the latest technologies and services considering service advancement and scalability according to future technological developments."
