[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Declarations of support from various sectors for Kim Dae-jung, candidate for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education, are pouring in one after another.
On the 18th, according to Kim Dae-jung's election office, about 300 youths and university students from the Jeonnam region declared their support for Kim Dae-jung, candidate for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education, at Wooseok Hall in the 70th Anniversary Hall of Suncheon National University at 7 p.m.
On that day, the youths and university students stated in their offline declaration of support, "We, the youths and university students, have reached a consensus that candidate Kim Dae-jung, who has experienced education, politics, and administration, is the right person to revive Jeonnam education," and added, "We must elect candidate Kim Dae-jung to create a Jeonnam where youths stay and return."
They said, "Candidate Kim Dae-jung, having served as Secretary General of Mokpo YMCA and Director of Mokpo Youth Training Center, is well aware of what youths want," and emphasized, "He ranked first in a recent opinion poll, which likely means we should not pass on to our children the lowest scores in the college entrance exam and integrity."
They continued, "We university students and youths support candidate Kim Dae-jung not only for his four-year term but also because he can foresee and implement future education," and reiterated, "Only candidate Kim Dae-jung is the hope for Jeonnam education."
Kim Dae-jung's campaign team stated, "Following the declarations of support from large organizations such as about 15,000 Jeonnam fisheries workers, the Jeonnam Residents' Association for Electing a Democratic Superintendent of Education, and the Yeosu Industrial Complex Labor Union Council, declarations of support from environmental groups are also planned, giving momentum to candidate Kim's election campaign."
