[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The approval rating of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate who announced his candidacy for the by-election for the National Assembly member of 'Incheon Gyeyang-eul' held together with the June 1 local elections, has been shown to exceed half.
On the 18th, Realmeter conducted a survey commissioned by MBN from the 16th to the 17th targeting 806 men and women aged 18 or older residing in the Gyeyang-eul electoral district of Incheon Metropolitan City. The results showed that candidate Lee Jae-myung's approval rating was 50.8%. Yoon Hyung-sun, the People Power Party candidate, was recorded at 40.9%, with a difference of 9.9 percentage points between the two candidates, which is outside the margin of error. Respondents who answered 'none' accounted for 4.0%, and those who answered 'don't know' accounted for 4.3%.
Regarding who is likely to be elected as the National Assembly member of Gyeyang-eul regardless of support in the election, candidate Lee led with 55.3%, ahead of candidate Yoon (35.8%) by 19.5 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error.
When asked what task Incheon City should prioritize the most, 'housing price stabilization and other real estate policies (21.2%)' and 'attracting companies and expanding jobs (19.9%)' were the most frequently chosen.
Following were 'welfare expansion' 14.2%, 'transport infrastructure expansion' 13.7%, 'solving low birthrate and aging problems' 9.8%, 'improving education and childcare support' 7.4%, 'revitalizing cultural tourism industry' 5.5%, and 'COVID-19 quarantine and damage support' 4.1% in order.
