Dongbu Construction announced on the 18th that it has won the contract for the construction of Section 4 of the Pyeongtaek~Osong double-track project.
The client is the Korea Rail Network Authority, and the procurement method is turnkey (design-build lump-sum bidding). Dongbu Construction formed a consortium with Daewoo, Hoban Industries, and Geumseong Baekjo.
The Pyeongtaek~Osong double-track project involves adding an additional double track to the Gyeongbu High-Speed Line section between Pyeongtaek and Osong (46.4 km), with a total project cost of 3.18 trillion KRW. The main task of Section 4 is to construct a tunnel for the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Sojeong-myeon to Jeondong-myeon section (8.06 km). It also includes a parallel power supply station (PP), signal machine room, and rescue facilities.
Previously, Dongbu Construction had won contracts for Section 1 of the Wolgot~Pangyo double-track railway (Wolpan Line) and Section 2 of the Honam High-Speed Railway Phase 2 (Gomagwon~Mokpo).
