[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) has installed nighttime landscape lighting to improve the scenery of the lake park and Jangji Stream in Dongtan 2 New Town, Hwaseong.
Dongtan Lake Park is an eco-friendly waterfront cultural park where residential, cultural complex facilities, and parks harmoniously coexist around Sancheok Reservoir and Songbang Stream. It won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the 2019 Korea Land Grand Prize.
Jangji Stream, located in Jangji-ri, Dongtan-myeon, Hwaseong City, is a popular spot among local residents after GH created a cherry blossom path there last year.
GH installed LED landscape lights shaped like rabbits, stars, and dandelions along the walking paths, and line lights on structures such as sluice gates and bridges to enable panoramic displays.
Additionally, a photo zone featuring LED sculptures in the shapes of hearts, crescent moons, and full moons was also established.
A GH official stated, "Through this lighting installation, we expect it to become a special attraction for citizens and for the lake park and Jangji Stream to become spaces where people can relax and stay comfortably."
