Wildfire on a Hillside in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk... Being Extinguished for 2 Hours

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] At around 7:50 PM on the 17th, a fire broke out in the hills of Daegok-ri, Geoncheon-eup, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk.

The forestry authorities have deployed about 70 personnel, including wildfire suppression teams, and have been conducting firefighting operations for two hours.

A Forestry Service official stated, "The fire is not spreading significantly, so unless there are other variables, we expect the firefighting to be completed by tonight." The Forestry Service plans to investigate the cause of the fire and the exact extent of the damage after the firefighting is finished.
