[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Employment Support Center at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is holding the ‘ACE Employment Skill Up Camp’ for two weeks from the 9th to the 20th at The K Hotel in Gyeongju.
The camp was organized to help students enhance their employment capabilities by equipping them with effective job search strategies and self-development skills in line with the changes in the recruitment market after COVID-19.
About 800 graduating students from a total of 26 departments, including the Department of Mechanical Design, are participating in the camp.
The camp is conducted over two days for groups of 5 to 6 departments, focusing on practical programs that help with employment such as ▲job understanding through strength analysis ▲writing job application forms ▲team building to strengthen organizational skills ▲and practical mock interviews.
In the practical mock interviews, actual industry HR managers participated as interviewers, providing students with an opportunity to overcome their fear of interviews and boost their confidence.
Students who achieve excellent results in the main programs are selected and awarded employment encouragement prizes.
Seo Dong-myeong, a student from the Department of Mechanical Design, class of 2021, who participated, said, “Due to COVID-19, recruitment has decreased and new methods like non-face-to-face interviews have been introduced, making job preparation difficult in many ways, but it was good to learn about hidden valuable companies and acquire useful employment skills at the camp.”
Center Director Kim Seong-won said, “The camp provided an opportunity for students to obtain diverse information and further enhance their employment competitiveness in response to the changing recruitment environment.”
