Goyang-si, "Reducing Indoor Pollutants and Fine Dust"... Promoting 'Green School' Vertical garden (biowall) with circulation system installed [Goyang City Agricultural Technology Center]

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Goyang City announced on the 17th that it will "promote the 'Green School Project without Fine Dust' targeting elementary, middle, and high schools within the jurisdiction."

According to the city's Agricultural Technology Center, the 'Green School' project aims to create green spaces within classrooms to reduce indoor pollutants and fine dust, and it is also expected to provide students with emotional stability.

The center plans to reduce fine dust inside classrooms by more than 30% through the Green School project.

This year, vertical gardens (bio-walls) equipped with circulation devices and stand-type automatic water supply pots will be installed in 17 classes across six schools, including Hwasu Elementary School.

The center plans to place 60 air-purifying plants (such as Scindapsus, Table Palm, Snow Sapphire, etc.) per classroom through indoor vertical gardens.

Air quality monitors that measure temperature, humidity, and fine dust information in real time will also be supplied to visually confirm the effects of introducing air-purifying plants.

Meanwhile, the center will form a 'Green Scout' club and operate a garden program with urban agriculture experts to help students develop values regarding environmental issues and proper food consumption.
