Dongwon F&B's 'Boseong Hongcha Iced Tea Zero' Surpasses 15 Million Bottles in Cumulative Sales

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Dongwon F&B announced on the 17th that its zero-calorie (0 kcal) beverage 'Boseong Hongcha Iced Tea Zero,' launched in July last year, has surpassed 15 million bottles in cumulative sales within one year of its release.


Dongwon F&B explained that the two variants of 'Boseong Hongcha Iced Tea Zero,' Peach and Lemon, have achieved sales of 20 billion KRW as of this month. It is expected to exceed 30 million units in cumulative sales and reach 40 billion KRW in sales by the end of this year.


Boseong Hongcha Iced Tea Zero, available in a 500 ml size, breaks the stereotype that iced tea is sweet and high in calories by being launched with 0 kcal. The tea leaves from Boseong Mountain in Jeollanam-do are fermented using the jar method and then brewed using a low-temperature extraction process. It is produced using a sterile filling method, ensuring hygiene and preserving the nutrients of the raw materials.


A Dongwon F&B representative said, "The product received such a hot response that it sold out in some convenience stores, causing difficulties in sourcing raw materials including Boseong Mountain tea leaves," adding, "We will continue to introduce new products that meet consumer needs, including a variety of zero-calorie beverage lineups."
