Preventing Conflict of Interest Cases Arising During Job Performance Process in Advance
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, conducted 'Conflict of Interest Prevention Act Education' for senior public officials at the city hall on the 16th.
The Conflict of Interest Prevention Act will be enforced starting on the 19th and was enacted to prohibit the pursuit of private interests in new types of corruption such as family hiring irregularities, preferential treatment for retired public officials, and real estate speculation.
This education was organized to ensure the early establishment of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, effectively manage conflict of interest situations that may arise during job performance, and secure trustworthiness.
To facilitate the smooth implementation of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, the city established the 'Gyeongsan City Public Officials' Conflict of Interest Prevention System Operation Guidelines,' appointed a Conflict of Interest Prevention Officer, and designated real estate reporting-related tasks, completing the preparation of related systems in anticipation of the law's enforcement.
Choi Young-jo, Mayor of Gyeongsan City, stated, "I hope senior public officials will take the lead in understanding the purpose and related contents of the law and cultivate the ability to effectively manage conflict of interest situations."
