[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Park Jonghun, candidate for Superintendent of Education in Gyeongnam, announced his fourth policy pledge on the 16th.
Candidate Park expressed his ambition to make Gyeongnam education a standard leading the educational community of the Republic of Korea, presenting ▲ the establishment of the Gyeongnam Environmental Education Center ▲ expansion of the Wisdom Sea across the region ▲ establishment of Happy Village Schools in all cities and counties of Gyeongnam.
He said, “While the importance of ecological transition education is emphasized, the reality in Korea is that it is difficult to find a systematic infrastructure for ecological transition education,” adding, “We will create the Gyeongnam Environmental Education Center, an ecological transition education institution sought not only by students in Gyeongnam but nationwide, and spread efforts for a sustainable future from Gyeongnam to the entire country.”
He also emphasized, “There is a high demand from each region for the establishment of the complex cultural facility Wisdom Sea,” and stated, “Following the Wisdom Sea in Masan and Gimhae, and the Gayasan Reading Hall Jungle Book in Hapcheon, we will continue to expand to necessary areas such as Geoje, making it a cultural hub loved by residents.”
Candidate Park pledged, “We will establish Happy Village Schools in all cities and counties to widely utilize villages as places of education,” and “We will operate educational programs linking schools and villages, and actively support village schools and village teachers.”
He also conveyed the ‘Five Promises for Only Gyeongnam Education, Only Gyeongnam Students.’

Candidate Park Jonghun said, “I will devote my last strength solely to Gyeongnam education and Gyeongnam students,” and asked for support, saying, “Please join forces so that the achievements of Gyeongnam education made so far do not regress or go backward.”
