Huons Global Appoints Kang Shin-won as CFO... Huons Also Recruits Jeong Kwang-il as Head of Research Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Huons Global and Huons, subsidiaries of Huons Group, announced on the 16th that they have respectively recruited Kang Shin-won as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Jeong Gwang-il as Head of the Central Research Center.

Kang Shin-won, the new CFO (Executive Director) of Huons Global, is a certified public accountant and will serve as the head of Huons Global’s Financial Support Headquarters. After graduating from Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Economics, he worked for about 15 years at Samil Accounting Corporation as a CPA, performing tasks such as accounting audits and financial due diligence. While serving as director of the Audit Headquarters, he also advised numerous companies on establishing internal accounting control systems. He later worked at Hands Corporation and served as CFO at Medipost, among others.

The company explained the reason for his appointment, stating, “CFO Kang has proven his capabilities as a financial expert through diverse industry experience at an accounting firm, and based on his CFO experience at mid-sized and bio companies, he is the right person to quickly grasp the group’s financial flow, secure financial soundness suitable for the group’s responsible management goals, and lead reforms in the financial accounting sector.”

Huons also recruited Executive Director Jeong Gwang-il as Head of the Central Research Center. Jeong graduated from Seoul National University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and earned a master’s degree in veterinary pathology from the same university’s graduate school. He then obtained a Ph.D. in veterinary pathology from the University of Tokyo in Japan. Subsequently, he conducted research in virology, vaccine immunology, and biomedical sciences at Ohio State University and Tufts University in the United States. He has held positions such as senior researcher at Pfizer Vaccine Research Center, senior researcher at Sanofi Pasteur, head of Life Sciences at LG Chem Vaccine Center, general manager of preclinical division at Samyang Biopharm, and head of Global New Drug Development at BioLeaders (Research Institute Director).

A Huons official stated, “Head Jeong not only has outstanding research achievements as a researcher but also possesses extensive R&D experience in various fields including vaccines, antibodies, anticancer drugs, immunology, and drug delivery systems, as well as experience as a government project evaluation committee member and national advisory committee member. He is a necessary figure for Huons, which is discovering long-term growth momentum through expanding its R&D pipeline.”
