[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hanwha General Insurance's Busan Regional Disaster Volunteer Group announced on the 16th that on the 14th, they conducted home repair volunteer activities for six vulnerable households in Bansong-dong, recommended by Haeundae District Office of Busan Metropolitan City, together with the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association University Student Volunteer Group.
A total of about 70 volunteers participated in the activity that day, carrying out residential environment improvement work using eco-friendly wallpaper and flooring materials. To prevent fire accidents that may occur in aging buildings, fire detectors were installed, and insect screen fluorescent lights were also replaced.
A Hanwha General Insurance official said, "We have resumed community-based social contribution programs that were suspended after the COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "Starting with Busan, we plan to carry out home repair volunteer activities in Daejeon and Daegu in the second half of the year."
