[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Kim Cheol-woo, the Democratic Party candidate for Boseong County Governor, was confirmed elected without opposition in the Boseong County Governor election on the 13th.

According to the Boseong County Election Commission on the 14th, as the candidate registration for the Boseong County Governor election closed after two days starting from the 12th, Kim was the sole registrant, so the election scheduled for June 1 will not be held and he will be elected uncontested.

Kim Cheol-woo, elected without opposition as Boseong County Governor, said, “I deeply thank the residents of Boseong County for their precious support and warm love,” adding, “Based on Article 275 of the Public Official Election Act, uncontested winners must cease all election campaigns, so I regret that I cannot visit and greet each and every one personally.”

Also, the elected Kim stated, “I will become a kind and meticulous governor who repays the expectations and wishes of the residents, and a capable governor who promptly solves the difficulties of the residents,” and added, “I will continue the achievements of the 7th elected term and build a strong Boseong in the 8th term.”

During his tenure as the 7th elected Boseong County Governor, Kim secured the largest-ever public project funds and the highest local allocation tax, ushering in the era of a 700 billion won budget for Boseong County.

In particular, he entered politics as the youngest county council member nationwide, built a solid local political foundation, and utilized his extensive central political activities and rich human infrastructure for the development of Boseong.

Kim Cheol-woo expressed his ambition, saying, “I will open the era of a 1 trillion won budget for Boseong County,” and presented key pledges closely related to the livelihood economy, such as achieving 10 million tourists in Boseong County, providing 1.2 million won in public service allowances to farmers and fishermen, and expanding the issuance of Boseong Love Gift Certificates.
