President Yoon and First Lady Visit Market and Department Store on First Weekend After Inauguration

[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] On the first weekend after his inauguration, June 14, President Yoon Seok-yeol visited a market and a department store with his wife, First Lady Kim Geon-hee.

According to the Presidential Office, President Yoon and the First Lady casually toured Gwangjang Market in Jongno-gu, Seoul, in the afternoon, purchasing packed bindaetteok, tteokbokki, and sundae. On the way back to their residence in Seocho-gu, they bought a pair of black shoes at a nearby department store shoe shop.

The couple’s visit to the department store was captured by several citizens and posted on social media. It was not a scheduled event. The Presidential Office explained, "This was an unscheduled, unofficial event with only minimal security personnel accompanying them."
