[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Junho] On the 13th, the Western Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it promoted the 119 Safety Call service, which can respond in a customized manner in emergency situations for socially vulnerable groups and general citizens.
The 119 Safety Call service refers to pre-registering information of socially vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and disabled people in the 119 Safety Call database.
This is to enable the ambulance team to know the characteristics of diseases and situations in advance when receiving a 119 report, allowing for customized dispatch and response.
The target groups include patients with illnesses, elderly living alone, and disabled people.
Applications can be made by the individual or a proxy by accessing the 119 Safety Report Center website and entering contact information, medical history, and medication history according to the guidance.
A fire station official said, “We ask for the interest and consideration of socially vulnerable groups in safety blind spots, such as the rapidly increasing elderly population and foreigners,” and added, “We will make various efforts to provide high-quality safety welfare services to all citizens.”
Meanwhile, on the 11th, the Western Fire Station collaborated with the Gwangju Regional Emergency Medical Center at Chonnam National University Hospital to conduct a campaign and provide guidance on registering for the 119 Safety Call service to about 1,000 patients and their families visiting the hospital.
